Basketball Recap: San Marcos Rattlers vs. Clemens Buffaloes
San Marcos lost against Clemens back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The San Marcos Rattlers took an 87-82 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clemens Buffaloes. While losing is never fun, the Rattlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Buffaloes are ranked 84th).
Clemens found their leader in freshman Bryson Bell, who posted 31 points. Another player making a difference was Quentin Proctor, who had 24 points.
San Marcos' defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Clemens, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
San Marcos and LBJ Austin will round out the year against one another at at 10:50 a.m. on Friday. LBJ Austin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season. As for Clemens, they will head out to challenge Round Rock at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Round Rock will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Clemens surely won't give up without a fight.
