The Cinco Ranch Cougars will take on the Jordan Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Friday, Cinco Ranch earned a 35-28 win over Katy Taylor. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cougars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Mustangs are ranked 582nd).

Cinco Ranch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Davis Roup led the charge by throwing for 275 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushing for 36 yards. What's more, Roup racked up 129.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Jacob Chevez was Roup's top target, picking up 126 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jordan). They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 56-13 victory over Morton Ranch. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Jordan's win came from a few key players Cinco Ranch will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ty Sexton, who picked up 140 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 43 yards. Another back making a difference was Jordan Hightower, who rushed for 77 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jordan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 326 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Jordan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Khamari Singleton and Michael Akenuwa. Jordan got some further help from Braden Pino: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Jordan's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Cinco Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Cinco Ranch was dealt a bruising 52-12 defeat at the hands of Jordan in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Cougars, Zion Jones (who rushed for 117 yards and three scores on only 11 carries, and also picked up 33 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
