Basketball Recap: Davie War Eagles vs. Reagan Raiders

The Davie War Eagles lost against the Reagan Raiders back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The contest between Davie and the Raiders wasn't particularly close, with the War Eagles falling 49-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Davie has scored all season.

Emmie Burris and Malayka Rankin certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Burris scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Rankin scored eight points along with ten rebounds. Burris has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Davie's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Reagan, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davie will take on the Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mount Tabor is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Reagan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (West Forsyth is ranked 243rd, while the Raiders are ranked 230th).
