Basketball Game Preview: Hornell Red Raiders vs. Salamanca Warriors

The Hornell Red Raiders will challenge the Salamanca Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hornell comes in on six and Salamanca on nine.

Last Tuesday, Hornell took their match with ease, bagging a 76-44 win over Lyons. The Red Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Salamanca rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They secured a 40-34 W over the Panthers.

Salamanca's win came from a few key players Hornell will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Makenzie Crouse, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kynleigh Wass, who posted ten points and three blocks.

Salamanca smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Salamanca pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Hornell, their win bumped their record up to 21-3.
