Basketball Recap: Jefferson Christian Academy Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Jefferson Christian Academy had won five straight road games and Justin Beckham did his part to make it six on Tuesday. The Jefferson Christian Academy Eagles came out on top against the Coosa Christian Conquerors by a score of 68-60 thanks in part to Beckham, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 21 boards. He has been hot, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last seven times he's played.

Brandon Williams was another key player, putting up two points and five assists. That's the most assists he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Coosa Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kylen Johnson went 7 of 17 on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dj Mackey, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Jefferson Christian Academy's record now sits at 14-8. As for Coosa Christian, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-3.

Jefferson Christian Academy will face off against Gardendale at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th. Gardendale knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Jefferson Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Coosa Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 57-52 loss against Sand Rock on the 9th.
