Poly won the last time they faced Carver Vo-Tech and things went their way on Thursday too. The Poly Engineers breezed by the Carver Vo-Tech Bears to the tune of 54-2. The Engineers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Poly's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexis Smothers, who posted 13 points and three steals. Smothers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of London Elliot, who scored four points and seven steals.

Poly has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.4 points per game. As for Carver Vo-Tech, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Poly will face off against National Academy Foundation on Tuesday. As for Carver Vo-Tech, they will square off against Mergenthaler Vo-Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
