Ella McFarlane made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Maria Coussens also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Garfield faced Ballard in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Garfield fell just short of Ballard by a score of 6-5. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lissie Hogan was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Michelle Arimura was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Holy Names Academy's record now sits at 2-7. As for Garfield, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Holy Names Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .461. However, it's not like Garfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .538. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Holy Names Academy suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Garfield when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Holy Names Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
