Baseball Recap: Enterprise Comes Up Short

Enterprise was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-6 to the Presbyterian Christian Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 last Tuesday.

Enterprise got a good showing from Gavin Smith, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Enterprise saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Smith, who scored a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Smith a new career-high.

Enterprise's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Presbyterian Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7.

Enterprise didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-10 win against St. Joseph Catholic on the 22nd. As for Presbyterian Christian, they will challenge Jackson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Presbyterian Christian's pitchers better be ready for this one: Jackson Academy has averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
