Baseball Recap: Eldorado Takes a Loss

Eldorado extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-7. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Western Warriors. If the Sundevils were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Warriors when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sabino Sanchez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Western, they moved to 8-11 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

On Western's side, Edgar Garcia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Garcia has become a key player for Western: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 4-10 otherwise. Garcia was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

In other batting news, Adrian Diaz was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Daniel Garcia Tapia, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Western beat Eldorado by a score of 5-3 on Thursday.
