Graham Local has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Shawnee Braves at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Graham Local pushed their score all the way to 59 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bellefontaine. Graham Local has struggled against Bellefontaine recently, as their match on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Shawnee's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 69-26 loss at the hands of Urbana. While losing is never fun, Shawnee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 753rd, while Urbana is ranked 169th).
Graham Local's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Shawnee, their defeat was their eighth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-16.
Everything came up roses for Graham Local against Shawnee in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 65-28 win. With Graham Local ahead 47-22 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
