Softball Recap: Heritage Academy Has No Trouble Against Coronado

Heritage Academy picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over the Coronado Islanders. The result was nothing new for the Heroes, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Sieana Soltero made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Gloriann Blanco and Savana Soltero did most of the damage at the plate: Blanco scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3, while Savana scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Soltero has posted since back in April of 2024. Amaya LaDrigue also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Heritage Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Coming up, Heritage Academy will head out on the road to face off against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Heritage Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Coronado, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Bayfront Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coronado is facing Bayfront Charter at the right time seeing as Bayfront Charter is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
