The Greer Middle College Blazers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They secured a 42-37 W over Greenville Tech Charter. The win was some much needed relief for Greer Middle College as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Despite the defeat, Greenville Tech Charter saw an underclassman step up: Sophie Chasteen scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals. Chasteen scored a full 40.5% of Greenville Tech Charter's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Greer Middle College's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Greenville Tech Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Greer Middle College will head out on the road to face off against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Liberty is ranked 252nd, while Greer Middle College is ranked 245th). As for Greenville Tech Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blacksburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
