Baseball Game Preview: Cumberland Academy Knights vs. Kilgore Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Cumberland Academy will face off against Kilgore. Cumberland Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Kilgore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cumberland Academy has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 7th.

Cumberland Academy came up short against Kilgore on Tuesday, falling 8-1.

Cumberland Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Mayo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits Mayo has posted since back in February of 2024. Keithan Cain also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Kilgore has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-12-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. Cumberland Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.
