Basketball Recap: Wheatland-Grinnell Takes a Loss

Wheatland-Grinnell lost against Wallace County back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks were dealt a 58-26 defeat at the hands of the Wallace County Wildcats. The match marked the Thunderhawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Wheatland-Grinnell still got an impressive performance from Daniel Mason, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. Mason is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games he's played.

Even though they lost, Wheatland-Grinnell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

With the loss, Wheatland-Grinnell broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-4. As for Wallace County, they moved to 3-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Wheatland-Grinnell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-21 defeat against Logan/Palco on the 10th. As for Wallace County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 63-46 victory against Rawlins County on the 10th.
