Softball Recap: Briggs Takes a Loss

Briggs and Dublin Scioto squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Briggs had to settle for second. They came up short against the Irish, falling 16-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bruins' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Briggs has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-8 record this season. As for Dublin Scioto, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-9.

Looking ahead, Briggs will be playing in front of their home fans against Centennial at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Stars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.48 runs per game on average), something the Bruins will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dublin Scioto, they will challenge Big Walnut at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
