Baseball Game Preview: Viewmont Vikings vs. Brighton Bengals

For the second straight game, Viewmont will face off against Brighton. The Vikings will face off against the Bengals at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Viewmont nor Brighton made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Vikings fell 6-2 to the Bengals. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

For Brighton's part, Mac Gunn made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Gunn also tossed no walks, which is notable because Brighton is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-9 otherwise. Gunn was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mike DiOrio, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
