Basketball Recap: Victoria Soto's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

ACERO Garcia came into Monday's match looking for another win against Victoria Soto, but Tony Macias wouldn't allow it. The Victoria Soto Wolves narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the ACERO Garcia Patriots 46-44 thanks in part to Macias, who went 8 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Guillermo Lopez, who posted five points along with six assists and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high.

With the win, Victoria Soto broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9. As for ACERO Garcia, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Kelly the next time they take the court. ACERO Garcia will head out to face Kelly at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Victoria Soto will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
