Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Day Mariners vs. Charlotte Lab School Lions

The Jackson Day Mariners will head out on the road to face off against the Charlotte Lab School Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Jackson Day and ten for Charlotte Lab School dating back to last season.

Jackson Day is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Queen's Grant on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Jackson Day had to suffer through a 88-61 loss at the hands of Queen's Grant. The Mariners were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-26.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Lab School scored the most points they've had this season on January 14th, but it wasn't enough. They were beaten by Valor Preparatory Academy 101-54. The Lions were down 84-46 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Jackson Day's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Charlotte Lab School, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Jackson Day took their win against Charlotte Lab School in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 74-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jackson Day since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
