After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fairview, Northwestern was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Corry Beavers, sneaking past 5-3. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 7-0 win the Beavers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Johny Baumgardner and Zac Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Baumgardner went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Johnson went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Johnson a new career-high.

Northwestern now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Corry, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Northwestern wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-4 loss against Conneaut Area on the 21st. As for Corry, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-5 victory against North East on the 22nd.
