Service put another one in the bag  on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They skirted past the Eagle River Wolves  5-3. The five-run effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring  matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
 Rilen Niclai made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those  nine  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with one  home run. That  home run was  his first of the season.
 Niclai wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Palmer Dalton, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double. That  double marked the first that  Dalton has  hit this season.
Service's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Eagle River, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 4-1-1.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Service is set to  square off against  their familiar foe West Anchorage  at 5:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Eagle River will  challenge  rival South Anchorage  at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Wolves 3.3, the Wolverines 2.2) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
