 If Polytech was feeling good  off their  11-1 takedown of Milford last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Polytech Panthers fell just short of the Seaford Bluejays by a score of  2-1 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Polytech of the  6-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2023.
 For Seaford's part,  Vince Evans III spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. Evans III has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate, Seaford's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  James McNeill, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-1.
 Polytech's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Seaford, their victory was  their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 5-6.
 Polytech will head out on the road to  face off against  Wilmington Charter at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Seaford, they will look to defend their home field  on Monday against ASPIRA Charter at 4:00  p.m.
