Basketball Game Preview: Estacado Matadors vs. Liberty Patriots

The Estacado Matadors will head out on the road to challenge the Liberty Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Liberty is hoping to do what Snyder couldn't on Friday: put an end to Estacado's winning streak, which now stands at five games. Estacado claimed a resounding 78-32 victory over Snyder. Given the Matadors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Tigers are ranked 1281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Liberty came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Lobos 83-58.

Estacado's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3.

Estacado was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 76-63. Does Estacado have another victory up their sleeve, or will Liberty turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
