The Munroe Bobcats will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the North Florida Educational Institute Fighting Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Hopefully Munroe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
Munroe extended their postseason success against L.E.A.D. Academy. They snuck past the Lions with a 48-42 victory.
Munroe found their leader in underclassman Aj Johnson, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mya Mccullar, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, North Florida Educational Institute waltzed into their contest on Friday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They blew past Eagle's View 56-7 on the road. North Florida Educational Institute has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.
North Florida Educational Institute's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anjela Tumsifu, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Tumsifu is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Sara Araujio Dagba was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Munroe has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-15 record this season. As for North Florida Educational Institute, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Munroe have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like North Florida Educational Institute struggles in that department as they've been averaging 22.7 rebounds per game.
