Basketball Recap: Fort Bend Austin's Run of Six Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Fort Bend Austin unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes by a score of 41-39. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-44 back in January.

Loss or not, Fort Bend Austin got some senior leadership from Andrea Sturdivant and Aminah Dixon. Sturdivant almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, while Dixon posted 15 points and five boards. The contest was Sturdivant's sixth in a row with at least ten points.

Fort Bend Austin's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-10. As for Fort Bend Hightower, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 27-5.

Fort Bend Austin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 73-15 victory against Fort Bend Bush on the 31st. As for Fort Bend Hightower, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-33 win against Ridge Point on the 31st.
