After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pershing County, North Tahoe was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the West Wendover Wolverines with a sharp 26-6 win. The Lakers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolverines, too.

Leading North Tahoe to victory were Nathan Powell and Aksel Atkins. Powell rushed for 109 yards and two TDs, while Atkins rushed for 68 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Tahoe was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

North Tahoe now has a winning record of 3-2. As for West Wendover, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

North Tahoe and West Wendover will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Lakers see the field they'll take on Battle Mountain at 1:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for West Wendover, their break will end when they face Incline at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
