Basketball Recap: Pioneer Victorious

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pioneer had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the North Newton Spartans by a score of 28-20.

Pioneer can attribute much of their success to Aidan Quillen, who posted 12 points and five assists. Brodie Howard was another key player, putting up nine points.

Despite the loss, North Newton had strong showings from Joe Stalewski, who had six points and six boards, and Jared Kutsch, who scored five points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Kutsch a new career-high in assists (four).

Pioneer's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for North Newton, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.

Pioneer has already played their next game, a 49-45 defeat against Tri-County on the 7th. North Newton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
