Soccer Game Preview: Van Nuys vs. Kennedy

The Van Nuys Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Kennedy Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Van Nuys' last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Van Nuys will head out to face Kennedy after giving up their first home loss of the season on Wednesday. Van Nuys fell just short of San Fernando by a score of 3-2. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Wolves couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kennedy). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Canoga Park on Friday. Emilio Salceda had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Cougars.

Van Nuys' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 6-2-3. As for Kennedy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9-1.

Van Nuys was able to grind out a solid win over Kennedy when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Van Nuys since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
