Football Game Preview: Keokuk Chiefs vs. Fort Madison Bloodhounds

For the first time this season, Keokuk will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the Fort Madison Bloodhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Keokuk and Burlington, and Burlington kept the tradition alive. The Chiefs took a blow against the Grayhounds on Friday, falling 62-27.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Fort Madison's offense. They were dealt a 56-0 loss at the hands of Mt. Vernon on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bloodhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Mustangs are ranked 20th).

Fort Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Keokuk, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Keokuk against Fort Madison when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 60-7 win. Will the Chiefs repeat their success, or do the Bloodhounds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
