Football Recap: Madison Victorious

Madison proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 27) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 30-28 victory over the Christian Patriots.

Adrian Sola had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 179 yards and a pair of scores. Madison also relied on Sola, who's 50-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game.

Another reason for the win was Madison's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Kawika Devore, Logan Nelson, and Runnar 'RJ' Miller, who each picked up one sack apiece. Madison got some further help from Devore: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made ten total tackles.

Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Kaleb Runkle and Kai Rosier. Runkle threw for 229 yards and two TDs, while Rosier gained 231 total yards and a touchdown. Rosier's longest rush was for an incredible 95 yards.

Madison picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Madison wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 41-0 defeat against St. Augustine on the 3rd. As for Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 41-24 loss against La Jolla on the 3rd.
