Basketball Recap: Trezevant Comes Up Short

Trezevant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the St. George's Gryphons, falling 70-28.

St. George's was led to victory by Martechio 'MJ' Hayes and Carson Crump. Hayes shot 60% from the field en route to 14 points and seven boards, while Crump went 5-for-9 to rack up 13 points and five assists. Hayes has also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 45% every time he's hit the court this season. Tristan Farris was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Trezevant's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for St. George's, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Trezevant will head out on the road to square off against Raleigh-Egypt at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. George's, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Houston at 7:30 p.m.
