Volleyball Recap: Joliet Central Victorious

Joliet Central won the last time they faced Thornton Fractional North and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Steelmen came out on top in a nail-biter against the Meteors, sneaking past 2-1.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Joliet Central got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 22-25, 25-18.

Joliet Central found their leader in freshman Luis Zurita, who had 12 digs and three assists. Those 12 digs set a new season-high mark for Zurita.

Joliet Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-16 record this season. As for Thornton Fractional North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Joliet Central will challenge Yorkville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Thornton Fractional North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
