Baseball Recap: Kirby Comes Up Short

The Kirby Cougars lost 15-1 to the Southaven Chargers on Thursday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kirby saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Erick Valles, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Valles is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Kirby's record now sits at 8-10. As for Southaven, they moved to 5-17 with that victory, which also ended their ten-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Kirby will look to defend their home field on Monday against Overton at 4:00 p.m. As for Southaven, they are taking a road trip to challenge Horn Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
