Softball Recap: Napoleon Comes Up Short

Napoleon entered their match against Springfield on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wildcats came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 14-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since May 23, 2024.

Napoleon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faith Rubinstein (Jr), who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Napoleon's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1-1 and their overall record down to 6-5-1. As for Springfield, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Napoleon will venture away from home to challenge Anthony Wayne at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Springfield, they will host Perrysburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
