Governor Thomas Johnson posted their closest victory since May 6, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tuscarora Titans 4-2. Those four runs were actually the fewest the Patriots have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Mason Dewease and Hunter Marten dominated on the mound. Dewease tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits, while Marten pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Dewease has become a key player for Governor Thomas Johnson: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Miles Hyatt was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

The victory got Governor Thomas Johnson back to even at 3-3. As for Tuscarora, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-3.
