Basketball Game Preview: Jeffersontown Chargers vs. Western Warriors

The Jeffersontown Chargers will square off against the Western Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Jeffersontown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Western likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Jeffersontown humbled Fern Creek with a 65-38 victory. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Western had to suffer through a 78-44 loss at the hands of Butler. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Bears are ranked 21st).

Jeffersontown pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Western, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.

Jeffersontown was able to grind out a solid win over Western in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 69-62. Will Jeffersontown repeat their success, or does Western have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
