Baseball Game Preview: JW North Huskies vs. Arroyo Valley Hawks

The JW North Huskies will challenge the Arroyo Valley Hawks at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. JW North is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

JW North fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Rancho Verde on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 4-3.

JW North got a good showing from Larry Camacho, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Camacho has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jason Anderson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Daniel Chavez was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Arroyo Valley lost 9-1 to Grand Terrace on Saturday. The contest marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Arroyo Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Rosas, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Arroyo Valley's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for JW North, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
