Baseball Recap: Jefferson County Comes Up Short

Jefferson County had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 21-0 to the Madison County Cowboys. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 21-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Jefferson County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ja'Lon Crumity, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Crumity has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson County will take on Brooks County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison County, they will take on Dixie County in a tournament on Friday.
