Volleyball Recap: Merrimack Valley Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Merrimack Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Hanover Bears on Thursday, falling 3-0.

While Merrimack Valley was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Hanover's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 25-22.

Hanover was led to victory by Casey Wilkinson and Sage Farger. Wilkinson had four digs and four aces, while Farger had 17 assists. Those four aces gave Wilkinson a new career-high.

Hanover pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Merrimack Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hanover, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Gilford on the 26th.
