Softball Recap: Ottumwa Wins Going Away Against Marshalltown

Ottumwa never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Marshalltown Bobcats. Considering the Bulldogs have won ten matchups by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ottumwa has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Marshalltown, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Ottumwa and Marshalltown will both be playing Mason City the next time they take the field. The Bobcats will host the Mohawks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
