The Platteville Hillmen will venture away from home to challenge the East Dubuque Warriors at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Platteville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Platteville got the win against Richland Center by a conclusive 10-4.

Kingston Clayton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Carson Opgenorth was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Alex Cullen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Platteville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

East Dubuque came out on top against River Ridge/Scales Mound on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Warriors blew past the Wildcats 9-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Platteville's record is now 6-1. As for East Dubuque, their record now sits at 7-8.

Platteville got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2024 against East Dubuque by a conclusive 19-3 score. Do the Hillmen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
