Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for South Range

South Range extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 18-9 in the process. They blew past the Jackson Polar Bears 12-5. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won 14 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

As for Jackson, they moved to 17-6-1 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since April 1st.

For Jackson's part, they got a good showing from Courtney Helle, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Helle has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Emma Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Moden, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, South Range will take on Keystone at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jackson, they will head out on the road to face off against Canfield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
