Volleyball Recap: Melissa Comes Up Short

Melissa was the 2-0 winner over Grandview when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals fell 2-0 to the Zebras on Thursday.

Melissa's offense was headlined by Brooklynn Johnson-Love and Duura Kpea, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Presley Williford and her ten assists. Kennedy Scott controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Melissa's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Grandview, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Coming up, Melissa will head out on the road to challenge Poteet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grandview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Godley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
