Basketball Recap: Greenville Victorious

Greenwood came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Greenville, but Ava Owens wouldn't allow it. The Greenville Red Raiders walked away with a 48-41 victory over the Greenwood Eagles on Tuesday thanks in part to Owens, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Greenville's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Miracle Cheeks, who posted six points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Despite the loss, Greenwood still got an impressive performance from Danielle Oliver, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Oliver's evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. A'Riya Griffin also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Greenville now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Greenwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing T.L. Hanna the next time they take the court. Greenville will host T.L. Hanna at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Greenwood will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
