Softball Game Preview: Taylor Griffins vs. Grosse Ile Red Devils

The Taylor Griffins will take on the Grosse Ile Red Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Taylor hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Taylor fell victim to Woodhaven and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 13-0 to the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Grosse Ile had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Jefferson on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted since April 12th.

Katie Antosiewicz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Antosiewicz was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base.

Antosiewicz wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Riopelle, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Riopelle has hit this season.

Grosse Ile's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 5-9. As for Taylor, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
