Softball Recap: Davison Cardinals vs. Grand Blanc Bobcats

Davison had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-5 to make it ten. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grand Blanc Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 on Monday.

As for Grand Blanc, the win keeps they at an undefeated 9-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average this season.

For Grand Blanc's part, Kayla Blumenschein spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. Blumenschein has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Grand Blanc saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Schultz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
