Football Recap: Waldron Comes Up Short

Waldron lost against Pittsford back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spartans took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Waldron still got an impressive performance from Seth Williams, who threw for 141 yards and three TDs on only ten passes, and also rushed for 44 yards and one score. Williams' passing game has become a key predictor of the Spartans' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Carmen Kurtz was Williams' top target, picking up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Waldron's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Pittsford, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Waldron has already played their next contest, a 56-22 win against Stryker on the 24th. As for Pittsford, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 72-64 defeat against Climax-Scotts on the 24th.
