Basketball Recap: Bear Grass Charter Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northside - Pinetown, Bear Grass Charter was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They skirted past the North Duplin Rebels 68-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since January 5, 2024.

Despite the loss, North Duplin still got an impressive performance from Donavan Armwood, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists. Armwood's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Duquan Stevens, who went 5 of 7 en route to 12 points and five rebounds.

Bear Grass Charter's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for North Duplin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Bear Grass Charter will head out to take on Cape Hatteras at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Duplin, they will challenge Neuse Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in North Duplin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
