Recap: Edison Chargers vs. Rancho Cucamonga Cougars
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Edison Chargers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 35-14 walloping at the hands of Rancho Cucamonga on Friday. Edison has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Edison still got an impressive performance from Julius Gillick, who rushed for 111 yards, and also picked up 39 receiving yards.
Trey Wilson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 153 yards and three touchdowns. Jonah Dawson was in the mix too, providing Rancho Cucamonga with two touchdowns.
Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Rancho Cucamonga, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Edison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rancho Cucamonga will be playing in front of their home fans against Murrieta Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Murrieta Valley is ranked 16th, while Rancho Cucamonga is ranked 18th).
