Flag Football Recap: Olivia Martinez Leads Vista PEAK Prep's Defense on Friday

Vista PEAK Prep's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past the Denver East Angels with points to spare, taking the game 28-12. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 38-20 on September 3rd.

Vista PEAK Prep found their leader in sophomore Rilee Bergquist, who threw for 206 yards and three TDs.

Vista PEAK Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Olivia Martinez led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Vista PEAK Prep got some further help from Idaly Garcia: she picked up two sacks and made four total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Vista PEAK Prep's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4. As for Denver East, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Vista PEAK Prep didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-0 win against Denver West on the 23rd. As for Denver East, they have also already played their next game, a 54-0 victory against Lincoln on the 20th.
