Basketball Recap: Eustis Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Eustis dropped to 10-2 on Wednesday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Seminole Seminoles by a score of 66-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (58), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Eustis still got an impressive performance from Eric Glover, who shot 50% from the field en route to 25 points and five boards. Glover is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Jaiden Palma was another key player, putting up nine points and five steals.

As for Seminole, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6. The victory was all the more spectacular given their disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Eustis is ranked 124th).

Leading Seminole to victory were Markel Barber and Andrew Ferguson. Barber went 7-for-9 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds, while Ferguson shot 73% from the field to rack up 16 points and eight boards. Those 14 points gave Barber a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Aristile, who posted 11 points.

Eustis will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Heritage at 1:00 p.m. on the 29th. Eustis will be up against Heritage's rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.83 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Seminole, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-64 loss against Lake Howell on the 19th.
